Realistic aerial ocean scenes by mixed media artist, Lisa Kendricken. Her work is inspired by her infinite love for the ocean and the unique beauty of each beach she visits. Self taught, her resin journey began in March 2019 in a dusty, unventilated basement; and is now in full swing. When she is not working full time as a nurse at MGH, Lisa is working out of Lydia Pinkham Labs to expand the possibilities for her new found passion.
Created by mixing resin with different viscosities of acrylics, pigments, and powders, the resin is then spread and meticulously manipulated, fanned out with heat, then torched to produce the lacing effects of waves; embodying the many forces of nature acting upon the ocean. Each piece is layered with translucent blues to create a realistic and three dimensional depiction of the ocean as seen from above.
